About the Program

Did you know that translation is the study and practice of translating written content with accuracy, cultural awareness and professional expertise?

French-English Translation combines language, culture and communication to prepare students for an increasingly interconnected world. You'll strengthen your bilingual advantage while developing skills in translation, writing, editing, localization and intercultural communication.

Glendon is the perfect place to join this program: as Toronto's only bilingual university campus, we live and breathe both of Canada's official languages (and more!). Graduates are prepared for careers in translation, communications, localization, government, publishing and other fields where bilingual professionals are in demand.

    Applied Learning Opportunities

At Glendon, opportunities to gain real-world experience, build marketable skills and apply theories learned in the classroom are plentiful. For Professional Translation students, these hands-on learning experiences include credited internships in the private or public sector, enrolling in our advanced translation practicum course and attending the School of Translation’s monthly conferences. Students can also volunteer at the annual Glendon Graduate Conference in Translation Studies, participate in the annual Translation Games or work on practical real-world challenges by enrolling in the Cross-Campus Capstone Classroom. These opportunities will help deepen the program's learning objectives and better prepare you for the job market after graduation.
