About the Program
Curious about how life works? Biology helps you explore the living world, from the microscopic cells in your body to entire ecosystems around the globe. You'll study topics such as genetics, human health, biodiversity, evolution and environmental sustainability while building scientific and analytical skills that can open doors to careers in medicine, research, biotechnology, conservation and beyond.
As the first and only bilingual Biology BSc in Southern Ontario, this Glendon program helps address a provincial need for bilingual professionals in the sciences. Our students learn from internationally recognized professors who specialize in ecology, animal behaviour, entomology, conservation biology and more. They can also take courses at the Keele Campus, where biology is the longest-established scientific program.

Applied Learning Opportunities
Glendon is located in a prime spot for biology students to gain real-world experience, build marketable skills and apply theories learned in the classroom through Experiential Education. Thanks to the Glendon Forest and West Don River Branch being just steps from the campus, you can gain the skills needed for careers specializing in ecology, ethology, environment, and conservation – all in your own backyard. You’ll regularly test research, learn theory through practice (such as through on-campus insect sampling) and help drive innovation in your field. Students can also enrol in a field course, do an internship, participate in a professor’s research project or develop their own – research opportunities rarely offered to undergraduates. Learn from or work alongside professors funded by the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada, who make use of our forested campus as a natural teaching environment.
