About the Program

Can't decide on just one creative pathway? At AMPD, you don’t have to.   

Explore the arts in a brand new way with our Integrative Arts program, where creativity, self-discovery and critical thinking intersect. Become a well-rounded artist with expertise across various disciplines and creative fields. Focused on the intersection of arts, entrepreneurship and technology, you will learn through collaboration inside and outside the classroom.  

You’ll begin with foundation courses that build essential skills, then supplement your studies with courses across AMPD, tailored to your unique interests and career goals, including course options from Cinema & Media Arts, Digital Media, Dance, Music, Theatre and Visual Art & Art History.

This interdisciplinary program culminates in collaborative capstone projects, equipping you to create impactful work that inspires and drives change.

The BFA in Integrative Arts aims to provide access and encourage students who have knowledge and experience outside of traditional art training to explore new directions in arts, creative industries, and decolonial / social justice based work.

Requirements for admission:
  • Alberta High School Diploma
  • ELA30-1 or English 30
  • An upper level arts course taken in High School is encouraged, but not required.
  • No portfolio is required.
  • To gain admission to this program, your academic average should be in the mid-70s.Maintaining your offer of admission to this program requires a final academic average of 70%.

    BFA

    The BFA in Integrative Arts aims to provide access and encourage students who have knowledge and experience outside of traditional art training to explore new directions in arts, creative industries, and decolonial / social justice based work.

    Requirements for admission:
  • British Columbia Secondary School Graduation Diploma
  • English 12 or English 12 First Peoples
  • An upper level arts course taken in High School is encouraged, but not required.
  • No portfolio is required.

    • Minimum overall result of “Bien/Buena/Bueno/Good” on all academic courses.
    • Some programs require a higher GPA.

  • Diploma with a total of at least six units, including prerequisites, and grades of 1, 2 or 3 in each unit.
  • An upper level arts course taken in High School is encouraged, but not required.

  • International Baccalaureate Diploma
    • IB Diploma with passes in six subjects: three passes at the Standard-level and three passes at the Higher-level, or two passes at the Standard-level and four passes at the Higher-level

    Applied Learning Opportunities

    In Integrative Arts, you’ll learn alongside industry-connected faculty and internationally recognized artists while building work that extends beyond the classroom.
