About the Program
Discover how you can become an agent of change in the Canadian health sector, where the demand for highly skilled project managers, digital health specialists, and policy analysts has never been higher. York’s Honours Health Studies combines three areas that support understanding and advancing healthcare systems: health policy, health management and digital health.
Explore how health policy shapes patient care, how health management practices improve quality, safety, effectiveness, and equity, and how digital health, data management, and health informatics including AI, support leading-edge health systems. Apply your knowledge to solve real-world issues such as homelessness, mental health and addiction.
The program offers flexibility to customize your degree based on your learning and career goals: pursue a double major or a minor in another field or complete course requirements for future studies (such as, law, medicine, occupational therapy, nursing, or more).

Applied Learning Opportunities
Explore foundational concepts in the management and policy governing the Canadian healthcare system and the social determinants of health. Learn about health policy, management, and digital health, and how technology, data, and decisions impact people and their health.
Gain hands-on experience through research, practicum courses, and our optional co-op program.
Throughout your degree, you will broaden your understanding with hands-on experiences such as case studies and simulations, taking advanced courses in Health Studies. An optional field project course is one of the special opportunities to apply your learning in healthcare setting.
